Theatre of Night Slot Review

Coin Values: 0.01 up to 10
Jackpot: 187,500 Coins
When we were little, we all heard stories about how dangerous it may be to wander off deep into the woods, especially after dark, because of the deadly beasts dwelling in it, looking for pray. Believe us when we tell you that this is not the case with NextGen’s title, because in this magical forest you can only enjoy the Theatre of Night and win lots of lucrative payouts as you watch the beautiful nocturnal animals dance on the reels. The 2017 release features five reels, three rows and offers 10 paylines, playable from $0.25 per spin. The slot houses crisp graphics and an enchanting soundtrack. Watch for the Firefly, since it will reward you with a nice round of free re-spins.
It can get pretty dark when you are deep in the forest, but, thanks to the bright moonlight, players will be able to enjoy all the beauties of the Theatre of Night. Lots of fireflies flying around will add a bit of sparkle to the reels, making the slot visually impressive. As you spin the reels, you will notice plenty of Hummingbirds, Butterflies and lovely forest Flowers, functioning as high-value symbols. Club, Heart, Spade and Diamond act as low-paying symbols, but they are designed to fit the theme perfectly. There are no Scatters, no other Bonus symbols whatsoever, but spinners will be pleased to know that the Wild will substitute for all other symbols and also trigger the Firefly Re-spins feature.
As we already mentioned, the 2017 release offers 10 fixed paylines, which require 25 coins for each spin and pay both ways. On the other hand, gamers are allowed to alter the coin value, which goes from $0.01 to$10, meaning that the lowest you can bet is $0.25, while the maximum possible wager is $250, which will definitely please both high rollers and penny punters. Once you set the most appropriate bet, simply hit the Spin button located in the bottom right corner of the screen, or go to Autoplay and set up to 50 automatic spins, if you just want to sit back and enjoy the show. Land at least three matching symbols on an active payline, starting from the leftmost or the rightmost reel to win payouts.
The NextGen title offers only one additional feature, and you don’t need no Scatter or other kind of Bonus symbols to trigger it. All punters need to do is land three Wild symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 on the same spin and you will trigger the Firefly Re-spins feature. During the base game, Wild symbols only appear on central reels, but during the Bonus feature, they can appear on all reels. Furthermore, the central reel will become a Wild reel, because it will be covered with Wild symbols throughout the feature. The Firefly can also turn additional symbols into Wilds in each re-spin, boosting your chances to land hefty payouts. The biggest downside of the Firefly Re-spins feature is that it cannot be retriggered, so make the most out of those six re-spins.
The Theoretical Return to Player in the Theatre of Night video slot is 96.137%. The Wild icons pay the most, 750 coins for five of a kind. Next in line is the beautiful Hummingbird, offering 400 coins for the same combination. As for the Butterfly and the Flower, they will both reward you with 150 coins for the maximum combo. Lucrative payouts can be expected during the Firefly Re-spins feature, thanks to lots of Wild symbols on the reels, the central Wild reel and the fact that the slot pays both ways.
First of all, we need to say that NextGen did a remarkable job concerning the visuals. The 2017 release boasts exceptional graphics and a matching soundtrack, so you will definitely feel as if you are really in this magical forest. As for the rest of the game, we have to admit that we weren’t very impressed. Being action-junkies ourselves, we love our games packed with special features, which is definitely not the case with the Theatre of Night. Even though Firefly Re-spins can be very rewarding, the feature is simply not enough, especially because it is not that easy to trigger, so most of the times you will just be hitting that spin button, waiting for something to happen.
