Planet Fortune is quite a distinct slot machine, with a lot of attractive aspects to it. It was developed by Play’N Go and launched in January 2018, tackling the motives such as space, adventure, hi-tech, future and robots. Our guess is fans of movies such as Star Wars and even Back to the Future will love this slot for its impressive style and imagery. There is something a bit retro about it, but the futuristic feel is also very strong. Planet Fortune features a male and female Space Traveler character, comically referred to as Astro-Adam and Extragalactic-Eve. From the get-go it’s obvious the game is a lot of fun, and you’ll see it will surprise you with a few win-boosting features as well. Ready? Prepare for takeoff!

Magnetic Mayhem

Game Symbols

Clearly, the design is inspired by the science-fiction wave of the 1960s. In those days, heroic astronauts were on the hunt for otherworldly treasures, and intergalactic quests were the things dreams are made of. Planet Fortune has a futuristic city backdrop and starry reels, populated by both theme related and typical playing cards/slot symbols. Higher payouts belong to our two leading characters – laser gun-packing Astro-Adam and blonde Extragalactic-Eve. There are also symbols of minerals, one pink and one blue. Lower values are tied to playing card icons from 10 to Ace.

The key symbol is the robot. Robot acts as Wild, replacing ordinary symbols and helping form more prize-winning combinations. Still, it can also trigger one of the special features which awards the player with a set of free spins. All theme-related symbols can appear in stacks of 2, 3 or 4.

Planet Fortune allows you to win on any spin by lining up 3 to 5 matching symbols on any of the 40 available paying lines. It’s a 5-reel, 4 row-slot machine with an Autoplay feature and several bet-adjusting options. The game’s layout is not that unusual, only slightly different to create a sense of novelty and progress. The Spin button also has a Hold feature which reduces the spin time and gives you a more instant win result. Playable on Androids, iPhones, iPads, tablets or PC desktops, Planet Fortune is a good choice for any spare moment you may have to dedicate to a lucrative space mission.

Bonus Features

Even though Planet Fortune doesn’t include many special symbols, it is packed with bonus features and extra perks. Stacked symbols are just the beginning; when the robot Wild starts working its mechanics on your bankroll, you’ll wish to prolong the mission as further as possible. Hitting 3 to 5 robot Wilds anywhere on the reels will start the Free Spins round. With 10 complementary spins, the Robot Revolution feature is where the big bucks are. During free spins, Wilds will remain stuck to the reels, but will ‘walk’ horizontally to the leftmost reel and create plenty of lucrative cosmic combos. Free spins can’t be retriggered, which is a pity.

However, the Magnetic Fortune feature makes up for it. It is a random feature during which two adjacent reels will spin in sync, after they’ve been highlighted. These reels will display 2×2 or 3×3 mega symbols and such clusters of 4 or 9 identical images considerably increase the chances of hitting good wins. Equipped with stacked symbols, sticky/walking Wilds, free spins and mega symbols, Planet Fortune is out to amass your cosmic fortune.

Speaking of wins, you must be dying to know if Planet Fortune pays well or not. It wouldn’t be called Planet Fortune if it didn’t pay well, right? Play’N Go’s first release in 2018 is a high to medium variance slot that accommodates low rollers as well as big budget players, although it generally fits better with more ambitious bettors. The average return to player (RTP) percentage is 95.5% and the top payout is 2,500x your stake or 250,000 coins. With bets ranging from 0.2 to 100 $/€/£, Planet Fortune can provide both less and more spectacular payouts, with wins occurring on every fourth to fifth spin on average.

Play’N Go has started out the year with a pretty good slot machine, and overall high-quality product worthy of their brand name. It has an attractive theme and visionary design, with plenty of artistic detail, but somehow remains faithful to the retro vide of the 60s and the whole ‘man on the Moon’ hysteria. The betting range fits in both modest bettors and high rollers, and the special features work amazingly well with the theme and game structure. We love the mega symbols and also the robot Wild with several functions; Planet Fortune is an example of having a dynamic special feature set that doesn’t require too many new symbols. It boasts an appeal that a variety of demographics will respond to, and it offers a nice non-progressive jackpot.
