Games based on films and television shows is pretty common ground for the industry these days, and Play’n GO and its Kummeli video slot is no exception to this rule, the only difference is that it’s a TV reference that only certain players will get.
This game uses graphics from the comedy programme itself; for those who don’t know what Kummeli is, it was a Finnish based show that ran from the early to mid 1990s, and is arguably a title that a lot of younger gamers won’t be aware of. All the characters you see, and the adaptations of the icons, are taken directly from the show and the various skits they performed. Furthermore, there is a introduction video to help ease you (more like drop) you into the manic and eclectic world of this comedy.
Putting aside the aesthetics, the game itself consists of a 20 paylines and five reel format that is pretty standard for a lot of casino slots currently in circulation. Players also have the end goal of a non-progressive 5,000 coins jackpot which is a considerable if not overwhelming monetary gain. Contrary to what many reviews say about this slot, there are actually bonus rounds and multipliers, although they’re not in abundance. We’re unsure as to where the confusion comes from, but there’s no need to overlook this game simply because of what a critic says.
As with every video slot, there is a mix of high and low value symbols, which are usually easy to differentiate between: the lower ones are less interesting and more generic looking icons, such as the helmet, and the high ones are the TV protagonists. Customers need to watch out for the Joker Wild and Scatter symbols. The former icon replaces all other symbols other than the Wilds and Scatters, and the latter can induce a series of free spins if you get over three of them.
The extra spins can’t be retriggered, which makes the free spins opportunity all the more important: although the spins are limited they’re worth up to 300x, therefore having the chance of getting those extra spins means you can get some big wins if you’re lucky enough. Obviously the downside is that if you miss out that one time you don’t get it again until your next game. Luckily for users, this isn’t your only chance of getting a bonus, there’s the Bonus Symbols that take you to scratchcard mini game; reveal three of them and watch the rewards tot up.
As wacky as this game is, much like the show, it is definitely worth getting past the crazy mix of characters and themes to get your hands on all the rewards hiding among the reels. We wouldn’t say it’s our favourite title from Play’n GO, but compared to some of the others from the brand, like Fire Joker, this activity is one of the better ones. Nonetheless, don’t take our word for it, give it a go and see for yourself.
