Batman & The BatGirl Bonanza is one of Playtech’s DC Super Heroes series of slots, inspired by the 60’s parody of the comic book hero’s adventures. In this one Batman is joined by his female counterpart, the Batgirl. Over the years, she has undergone many transformations, but the most recognisable Batgirl was Barbara Gordon, daughter of Gotham City police commissioner. Years later she was shot by Joker and paralysed continued to fight crime from her wheel-chair as the super-hacker Oracle. In this game she hasn’t yet suffered from the unfortunate encounter with the famous villain and will help Batman make you a bit (or a lot) richer.
Batman, Batgirl and Robin appear not only as singles but also as co-op symbols. These can stand in for either character shown, in order to create a win. The trio is joined by the Commissioner Gordon, Motorbike, Radio, Statue, Batman’s Belt and Statue icons. Characters all presented with the help of actual TV series shots, engaging in fun animations delivered by the video footage. Other icons, as well as all game visuals, are portrayed in the classic comic book style. Batman, Batgirl and Robin symbols appear as single icons on all reels, and 2-symbol high and 3-symbol high stacks on columns 3, 4 and 5. Batman logo represents the Wild which will substitute for any of the other icons except, as usual, the Scatter.
Batman & The BatGirl Bonanza features 5 asymmetrical reels, first two containing only 2 rows and the other three 4. The game is played with 60 fixed paylines and offers a bet range of €0.30 to €30 per spin. Wins are paid from left to right and winning combos formed with the help of both regular Wilds and co-op icons. Autoplay function is included for those of us who get bored clicking the spin button for longer periods of time.
Matching symbols on columns 1 and 2 will trigger 5 Batgirl Locked Respins. The four matching symbols will get locked while other 3 reels re-spin. Activating this feature is also made easier by co-op symbols and Wilds.
Landing Bonus icon on reels 3, 4 and 5 awards Batman Team-Up Free Games. When the feature begins, you’ll need to click PICK ME cards to reveal Robin, Batgirl or Batman characters. Each selection will contribute to a collection area for a character at the top of the screen. The first one you fill will reveal number of free games won, either 12, 17 or 25. While you’re spinning for free, reels 1 and 2 will merge and form a large 2×2 symbol.
As all other slots in the same series, Batman & The BatGirl Bonanza also feature 4 progressive jackpots. Jackpot feature can be triggered randomly on any spin and entering it guarantees a win. To find out which one you’ve won, you’ll need to pick from 20 cells, each hiding 1 of 4 types of coloured energy balls. Winning Mini jackpot requires 2 green balls, Minor Jackpot 3 blue ones, Major Jackpot 4 yellow balls and the Grand Jackpot 5 red energy balls.
Reported RTP for this game is 96.00%, which includes Jackpot Contribution of 0.99%. Wild Batman logo pays up to 2,000x your line bet or as much as €1,000, if you are betting max. Landing the highest paying Batman combination is much easier, thanks to co-op symbols, allowing you to collect up to €200. We have actually managed to grab that one within the first 10 minutes. While it might not be a fortune, it’s a decent win which is not that difficult to pick up. The four progressive jackpots offer a chance to collect higher amounts, the biggest one starting with €200,000 seed.
We like it that Playtech not only plays with different characters in their DC Super Heroes series, but also with each provides unique elements and features. Batman & The BatGirl Bonanza come with an interestingly designed and used reel area and never before seen co-op symbols. The thing we love about the series in general is that, instead of basing their game on the modern and “serious” Batman productions, the developer chose to use an old TV parody. If the creativity visible all around doesn’t give you good enough reason to give it a go (which we very much doubt), a chance to win one of four progressive jackpots might.
