All of you who loved Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern, the 2011 blockbuster, will be thrilled to know that Playtech is about to release a brand new slot called Green Lantern, based on the Warner Bros. Pictures movie. This five-reel slot with 243 ways to win system comes as a result of a signed agreement between Playtech and Warner Bros, so after several Classic Batman slots, spinners will have the opportunity to enjoy the adventures of Hal Jordan, his mentor Sinestro, the Guardian of Oa and others.
As you follow the members of the Green Lantern Corps in outer space, led by Hal Jordan himself, you will enjoy some outstanding graphics, impressive animations and an engaging soundtrack, which will provide a perfect cinematic experience for all gamers who love slots packed with action.
Playtech is still trying to keep everything about the upcoming release a secret, but we managed to dig up some important information to help gamers prepare for the upcoming Playtech product. You will get the chance to meet some of the most important members of the Green Lantern Corps. There is Hal Jordan, the first human that made it to the Corps, his mentor Sinestro, the Guardian of Oa is also there, as well as Kilowog, the primary trainer of newest recruits, and Tomar-Re. All of them will represent high-value symbols, while playing cards will be used for low-paying ones.
The ring is used as a Wild during base game, which substitutes for all regular symbols, while the Bonus rounds will unveil all sorts of new Wilds.
When it comes to gameplay, we still don’t have all the information, but more than enough to keep you informed. The Green Lantern is a five-reel, three-row slot with 243 ways to win. If our sources are correct, betting will be fixed at 40 coins per spin, but you will be able to alter the coin value. In order to speed things up a bit, try out the Turbo button, while Autoplay can get you up to 100 automatic spins, if you prefer to sit back and enjoy the show.
The 2016 release pays from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. We suppose that a three-of-a-kind combination will be set as a minimum for landing payouts. Base game uses Collapsing Reels feature, meaning that every time you land a winning combination, the winning symbols will disappear, making room for new symbols and new possible winning combinations. What is also important is that you can trigger one of three random Bonus features through Collapsing Reels, all you need to do is land a sufficient number of consecutive winning combinations in order to fill out the green bar in the bottom right side of the screen. At least four consecutive wins are needed, but the more you get, the bigger the level of the Bonus game will be.
Four consecutive winnings, or collapses trigger the Level 1 Bonus feature. If you get 6 or more, you will get to Level 2, while 8 or more will get you on Level 3. There are three random Bonus features gamers can benefit from. In Training Centre Mission, you will get 10 freebies and extra Wilds. In Level 1, you will be awarded with Grenade Wilds, Level 2 gets you Missile Wilds, while Punch Wilds await you on Level 3.
In Secret Sector Mission you also get 10 free spins, and some cool 2x-3x multipliers, depending on the Level you are in. In Level 3, you start off with a 3x multiplier, which will increase with every consecutive winning combination, up to a 9x multiplier.
Once the Fear Fight Mission is triggered, all symbols from the previous spin will explode. The Green Lantern will then add stacking Wilds with his Ring starting from the bottom row of the reels, and the Wilds will remain locked on their positions until you end the Mission and reach the stacking Wilds limit determined by the Level of the game you are currently in.
Last but not the least is the DC Superheroes Progressive Jackpot, triggered randomly. A screen with 20 fields will appear, and you will need to discover fields with matching colours in order to win a Mini, Minor, Major or Grand Progressive Jackpot.
Betting will start at $0.40 per spin, while the maximum possible wager you can place should be around $2,000, meaning that the coin value goes from $0.01 to $50. Hal Jordan, or the Green Lantern will be the highest-paying symbol of the slot, offering 500 coins for five of a kind. Since the 2016 release will feature a Progressive Jackpot, we still don’t know the maximum possible payout, while the theoretical return to player will be known once the Playtech product is released.
Even though the Green Lantern is considered to be the least popular of all DC Comics superheroes, judging from the information we managed to gather, the Playtech product will definitely increase the popularity of Hal Jordan and his Green Lantern Corps. Spinners should prepare themselves for an action-packed slot, with plenty of rewarding Bonus features and some outstanding visuals. We cannot wait for the release date of the Green Lantern slot, and we would advise all gamers to give the game a go once it becomes available online.
