Empire Fortune Slot Review
Released: Oct 2016
Software: Yggdrasil Gaming
Coin Values: 0.01 up to 5
Empire Fortune is a video slot released by MGA licensed company, Yggdrasil Gaming. The game follows a 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 fixed paylines structure, with an extra edge of three progressive jackpots. The lines pay left from right when at least three symbols land on a payline. The symbols fall into three different categories and each of them will trigger a different bonus feature. Spin speed adjustment is also possible as well as the Auto Play.
The number of automatic spins can be set up at 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 250, 500, 750 0r 1000. The spins can either be stopped manually or by further preference modification. This way, the player can make sure the auto feature is turned off when a certain balance amount is reached or after a jackpot is won. Bets can be submitted manually, or with the Max Bet option which will increase the stake to the highest amount on all lines.
With the slightly generic sound effects and symbols, the slot does not have a specific story line. It is more of a gameplay focused slot, with a decent looking but not overly elaborated theme.
Graphics and Symbols
The game features a royal blue background with playing card and precious stone symbols. There are eight regular symbols, together with the Freespin and Bonus symbols. The highest value icons are the precious stones – sapphire blue, emerald green, amethyst purple and ruby red. Combination of three is worth $35 to $50, while five can bring the maximum of $2,500.
Other symbols include Bonus icon, the Joker, Diamond and Gold Bar symbol. The last two are relevant to the jackpot win, while the Bonus and Joker award extra spins. With the landing of violet icons with numbers 100 and 500, extra bucks are awarded. The Mystery Win icon has a question mark on the black surface and can award $250 to $5000. Finally, the symbol with the rocket will unlock Fireworks Feature and multiple the prize by 3, 6 or 12.
Empire Fortune certainly does not disappoint when it comes to bonus features. The first in line is a Hold Feature. If the player lands two of Bonus or Free Spins Symbols, the reels with these icons will be held. The Hold Feature in Free Spin mode will award an extra spin.
Free Spins are unlocked by landing of the Scatters (the Joker symbol). The spins are combined with the multiplier. If, for example, a player lands 3 Scatters, 10 free spins with 2x multiplier will be triggered. The number of spins and multipliers doubles with 4 Scatters, while 5 Scatters will bring 30 extra spins and 10x multiplier.
With the Jackpot Wheel, prizes will depend on one of the three different levels within the feature. The player can move through levels and be awarded with extra spins by three or more Bonus Symbols. The top level can unlock one of the three jackpots – Empire, Diamond or Golden, each triggered by the corresponding symbol. Other wheel prizes include coin awards, free spins and multipliers that may even increase the jackpots.
Bets range from $0.10 to $100 per spin. The jackpots are progressive and Empire Fortune is a medium variance game with the RTP percentage calculated at 95.5%. At the time of writing no jackpot winners were recorded. However, having in mind Yggdrasil’s last payout (almost $2.9 millions on the Joker Millions, July 2016), our hopes are up.
With the abundance of bonuses and generous payout potential, Empire Fortune is one of those slots that can truly make a difference. You may need a few or more spins to come to the Free Spins mode, but the ever increasing jackpot building up before your very eyes will keep you motivated. Even better is the possibility to boost the already won jackpot with the Fireworks feature. And considering that the slot is a medium variance one, smaller regular wins will be frequently awarded. Enough to place this slot on the map and make you eagerly expect Yggdrasil’s future releases.
